Tutoring is not only for children who are behind. It helps for three different reasons.
One unit never landed, and every new one is built on top of it. A tutor goes back to the missing step and rebuilds from there.
Your child is working hard and still guessing. A regular lesson steadies the week before small gaps add up to a big one.
Class is too slow and there is nothing harder to do. A tutor can go deeper into this year’s work or start on next year’s.
Not sure? Seven signs a tutor would help, and three that point somewhere else
One in the subject they teach. One in how to teach it. That is what American Board certification means, and it is the only kind of tutor AB Tutors will list.
Anyone can call themselves a tutor. Being able to explain fractions to a ten-year-old who has decided they hate them is a different skill, and it is the one you are paying for.
Choose a subject for the detail, or a grade level to see what lessons look like at that age.

Search by subject and grade. Read each tutor’s background, and send a message if you have a question before you book.
Open times are shown in your own time zone. Pick one, say who the lesson is for, and pay for that lesson. You can move or cancel it later.
At lesson time, open the lesson page and choose Join lesson. Afterwards you can book the next one and leave a review.

Each tutor sets an hourly rate. You see the price before you pay, and you pay for one lesson at a time.
Every tutor is an American Board certified teacher. Our team reviews each tutor’s background and profile and approves it before families can find it.
Each tutor sets an hourly rate, shown on their profile and in search. The price of a lesson is that rate for the length you choose, and you see it before you pay.
Cancel 24 hours or more before the lesson and you get all of your money back. Cancel later than that and you get 50% back. If the tutor cancels or does not turn up, you are refunded in full.
No. A parent or guardian holds the account, adds the child’s first name and grade, and books and pays. Children do not have logins. Adults can also book lessons for themselves.
